She’s the Team USA athlete who has styled herself as the ‘most-eligible bachelorette’ at this year’s Winter Olympics.
And Sophia Kirkby has revealed she has been inundated with DMs since arriving in the Olympic Village – and has even lined up some Valentine’s Day dates in Italy.
Before arriving at Cortinna d’Ampezzo, the 24-year-old luge star shared an Instagram reel to her 23,000 followers which read: ‘Athlete Village’s Most Eligible Bachelorette Arrives Tomorrow.’
Kirkby, who will be in action for the women’s double luge on Wednesday, has won both silver and bronze at the World Championship – but is looking to strike gold away from the sled.
‘I’ll be sharing what it’s like navigating the dating world of competing athletes – wild schedules, early bedtimes, constant travel… and somehow still trying to be romantic,’ she said about her plans to document her Olympics journey.
Now, Kirkby has revealed she has received around 600 date offers, and two of them are already pencilled in for Saturday.

The luge star has shared various Instagram reels about her love life to her 23,000 followers
‘I have so many contenders for a date and I’m ready to start messaging you guys back and seeing what she can schedule,’ she told her Instagram followers, many of whom have reached out.
Speaking to Women’s Health, Kirkby revealed she has ‘two dates scheduled for the 14th’ and is ‘open to scheduling more’ if she has the time.
She added that most of the contact she’s received has been from fans – but did not rule out potentially hooking up with athletes.
‘My mindset is just to take chances, meet people, and see what’s out there,’ she told the magazine.
‘Everyone’s schedule is intense, and people are really locked in on their events. But it’s also super social – there’s a lot of friendly energy, and people are excited to meet each other.
‘I think athletes are down to have fun, especially once they’re done competing, but it really depends on where they are in their competition schedule.’

Kirby has shared a number of posts on social media advertising herself for dates while she is in the Olympic village
Kirby had previously insisted she wanted to spend Valentine’s Day in the Village and said in another post that she ‘might be on the hunt for a cappuccino date’.
After the Opening Ceremony of the Games, she shared a post of her pointing towards the Team USA congregation in Cortina.
‘My Valentine might be in this line somewhere,’ she wrote.
Another video showed a volunteer on open night seemingly trying to set Kirby up on a date, but she insists she’s open to meet anyone – as long as he is tall and ‘strong enough to sweep me off my feet’.
