Liverpool 1-0 Nottingham Forest
Liverpool secured a dramatic 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest thanks to Alexis Mac Allister’s late strike, though the Argentine had seen an earlier effort ruled out just moments before in extraordinary circumstances.
The winning goal arrived when Szoboszlai delivered a cross into the area, with Ekitike getting a touch before the ball fell to Mac Allister, who converted from close range.
VAR examined the goal for a potential offside but allowed it to stand.
Minutes earlier, Mac Allister had appeared to score in fortunate fashion when a Forest defender’s clearance struck him and rebounded into the net, but officials disallowed it after the ball had struck his elbow.
The contest at the City Ground was largely devoid of quality, with just three shots on target across the entire 90 minutes.
Forest controlled proceedings before the interval, with Ibrahim Sangare outstanding in midfield for the hosts. Liverpool appeared disjointed and struggled to connect passes, failing to register a single shot on target in the opening period.
The champions’ preparations were disrupted when Florian Wirtz was ruled out during the warm-up, with Curtis Jones drafted in as a late replacement.
Mo Salah endured a difficult afternoon, with Sangare dispossessing him on multiple occasions.
His failure to find the net extended his Premier League goal drought to nine matches, his worst ever run.

Crystal Palace 1-0 Wolves
Evann Guessand delivered a dramatic late winner for Crystal Palace, converting Tyrick Mitchell’s low delivery from the left flank in the 90th minute to seal a 1-0 triumph over Wolves at Selhurst Park.
The substitute timed his run perfectly, using the pace of the cross to direct a first-time finish beyond Jose Sa.
The contest’s complexion shifted dramatically shortly after the hour mark when Ladislav Krejci was shown a red card.
The defender collected two bookings in just three minutes and 16 seconds, with his second caution coming for booting the ball away moments after the referee’s whistle.
Dean Henderson proved the hero before the breakthrough, diving to his bottom left to keep out Tolu Arokodare’s weak spot-kick in the 43rd minute.
The penalty had been awarded after Adam Wharton brought down Mateus Mane inside the area, but the goalkeeper’s save ensured the deadlock remained intact.
This defeat marked Wolves’ 20th loss in 28 Premier League fixtures this season, leaving Rob Edwards’ side rooted to the bottom of the table.
Palace’s victory lifted them to 13th position and extended their remarkable home record against Wolves to six consecutive wins, their longest such streak against any opponent in top-flight history.

Sunderland 1-3 Fulham
Fulham claimed a comfortable 3-1 triumph over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, ending their three-match losing streak in the Premier League.
Mexican striker Raul Jimenez proved the difference, converting twice from the penalty spot to maintain his perfect record from 12 yards in English football’s top flight.
The forward opened the scoring in the 54th minute with a powerful header from an Alex Iwobi corner before doubling the advantage from the spot seven minutes later.
Enzo Le Fee pulled one back for the Black Cats with a well-struck penalty in the 76th minute, but Iwobi sealed the points with a composed finish nine minutes later.
The contest was marred by a series of injury setbacks during the opening period, with both sides forced into early substitutions.
Sunderland suffered the worst of the disruption, losing right-back Nordi Mukiele inside 12 minutes before January signing Jocelin Ta Bi was withdrawn on his Premier League debut after 39 minutes.
Fulham were not spared either, with winger Kevin forced off during first-half stoppage time following a collision with Lutsharel Geertruida.
The injuries contributed to seven minutes of added time at the break, though the second half proved far more eventful as Fulham capitalised on their opponents’ misfortune.
