With conflicts and construction taking place over the summer, the New York Giants will be forced to move their first few weeks of training camp to another state.

According to the New York Post, the Giants will begin preparations for the 2026 NFL season in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia at the historic Greenbrier Hotel.

Reasons for the move include the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will see eight matches played at the football team’s home of MetLife Stadium – including the Final.

Additionally, there are ongoing renovations at the Giants’ practice facility that require time to complete.

The outlet reports that ‘renovations of the Quest cafeteria, locker room, weight room, and an office expansion of the facility built in 2009 are ongoing, necessitating the Giants’ moving their entire football operation for at least the first portion of training camp.’

This is the first time the Giants have practiced away from their facility since 2010, when they took what was then an annual trip up to the University at Albany under head coach Tom Coughlin.

The Greenbrier has been open since 1913 and has been home to professional sporting events like the PGA Tour’s Greenbrier Classic throughout its history.

Multiple NFL teams have hosted their training camps at the Greenbrier since the resort opened a football facility.

Teams like the New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals have made use of the resort’s facilities in the past.

This will mark the first training camp for the Giants under new head coach John Harbaugh, who joined the team in the offseason after being fired from the same post with the Baltimore Ravens.

Last season, the Giants went 4-13 and fired head coach Brian Daboll midway through the season. They hold the fifth overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
