Team USA hockey star Jack Hughes has been forced to clarify that he is not marrying an Indian billionaire heiress as his post Winter Olympics fame continues to skyrocket.
Hughes scored the winning goal for his country to seal a gold medal at the Milan-Cortina Games last month, and he has since been making headlines around the world.
One he may not have expected to see this week, though, was erroneous reports he was due to marry billionaire heiress Ayesha Arora on Saturday in a lavish ceremony in Jodhpur, India.
That, it has been clarified, is instead a different Jack Hughes, who carries an uncanny resemblance to the New Jersey Devils center.
In a statement to Forbes, Hughes’ agent Pat Brisson confirmed that it was a case of mistaken identity, and that his client was not getting married on Saturday.
Instead, the Olympics superstar remained in the US and made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live alongside Connor Storrie and the also-gold-medal-winning women’s team.

Hockey star Hughes is also reportedly dating Canadian popstar Tate McRae, with the pair having been spotted together previously.
A report from Entertainment Tonight revealed more on their relationship status this week, with a source revealing: ‘They have a lot of the same friends and started hanging out that way.
‘He has gone to her shows, and she likes supporting him at games too.’
The source added that McRae is ‘not looking for something super serious’ but the pair are enjoying seeing where their romance heads.

In Jodhpur, meanwhile, the other Hughes was indeed getting married to Ayesha Arora, the daughter of billionaire and former Google exec Nikesh Arora.
Week-long celebrations have been ongoing, with the couple pictured alongside guests and friends throughout the week leading up to the glitzy Saturday night ceremony.
The celebrations reportedly kicked off on Wednesday and guests attended a Holi party and a Sangeet, before the ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace on Saturday, the same venue used by actress Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas in 2018.
The Aroras are based on the west coast of America, with billionaire Nikesh CEO of Palo Alto Networks, while his daughter is a partner at venture capital firm S32.
