  • Australia needs many results to go its way to qualify for next stage of World Cup

An Aussie cricket creator with more than 150,000 followers on Instagram has been involved in a heated argument with an influencer from Pakistan.

Jake Jeakings is one of Australia‘s most popular social media influencers within the cricket community and has made the trip to the subcontinent to watch the ongoing T20 World Cup.

The Aussie has since had a run-in with fellow notable cricket creator Saud Jarwar, after the Pakistani tried to hand him a piece of sandpaper.

Jeakings was left furious, with Jarwar’s attempt to hand him the item intended to frustrate the Aussie, in a reference to the 2018 sandpaper-gate incident which rocked the national cricket team.

After the pair introduced themselves to each other, Jarwar tells Jeakings, ‘I also have a special gift for you.’

Jeakings replies, ‘Let me guess. It’s sandpaper?’

The interaction then becomes heated, with Jeakings visibly angered by the attempted gift and subsequently taking Jarwar’s microphone.

‘Do you want me to throw your mic away?’ the Aussie asks angrily.

‘Don’t ever come up to me like that. Don’t ever come up to me like that again,’ he declares.

Jeakings also pushes Jarwar backwards while making the comment, looking visibly irritated.

The Pakistani creator, who boasts 134,000 followers on TikTok, then fires back:

‘Don’t push me. Don’t push me,’ he’s heard stating.

Jeakings is known as a larrikin on social media, often poking fun at players and fans all over the world.

Jarwar then attempts to stick up for his Pakistani players.

‘Stop trolling my players, OK?’ Jarwar is heard saying defiantly.

Video of the pair’s interaction has recently been posted to Jarwar’s social media account, with fans weighing in from across the world.

‘(The) gift was personal,’ one social media user said.

‘Whoever this Jack guy is, he’s right. I am on his side,’ another wrote.

The pair’s fiery clash comes as Australia sits on the verge of a shocking early World Cup exit.

After a surprise loss to Sri Lanka, the Aussie team’s fate is now out of their hands.

If Zimbabwe, the side which beat Mitch Marsh’s men just days ago, defeat Ireland, Australia will be out of the World Cup.

But even if Zimbabwe lose, Australia needs them to fall short against Sri Lanka.
