Sky Sports will introduce two fresh Premier League programmes as the new season approaches, featuring Emma Paton and Roman Kemp in presenting roles.

The broadcaster has scheduled a weekday magazine programme running from Monday to Thursday between 5pm and 7pm, with Paton and Julian Warren alternating as hosts.

Paton brings extensive broadcasting experience to the role, having established herself as Sky’s primary darts presenter and earning recognition as the queen of Alexandra Palace.

The 30-year-old broadcaster’s portfolio extends beyond darts to include US Open tennis coverage, WWE programming and Sky Sports News presenting duties. She initially joined the network in 2012 as a journalist before transitioning to on-screen roles in 2019.

Warren will share hosting responsibilities on the programme, which aims to provide comprehensive coverage of Premier League stories throughout the week.

The One Show presenter and former Capital FM DJ will lead Premier League Friday despite having no prior experience in football broadcasting.

Kemp, who supports Arsenal and has participated in Soccer Aid charity matches, will work alongside various pundits and reporters analysing football’s key talking points whilst previewing weekend fixtures.

This strategy follows their recent overhaul of Saturday morning programming, which now incorporates social media-focused content.

Both new programmes emerge following a challenging period for Sky, which saw the departure of seven senior employees through redundancies in June, amongst them presenters Melissa Reddy and Rob Wotton.

The programming changes arrive after Sky implemented staff reductions earlier this summer, with the broadcaster making seven senior positions redundant in June. Those affected included established presenters Melissa Reddy and Rob Wotton.

The network’s pursuit of younger viewers has prompted significant scheduling adjustments, including a transformation of their Saturday morning output towards content driven by social media engagement.

These latest programme launches represent a continuation of that strategic direction.

Both shows will commence broadcasting ahead of the Premier League’s opening weekend, with the weekday magazine programme establishing a regular Monday to Thursday slot whilst Kemp’s Friday preview show provides pre-match analysis.
