The racing suit worn by Dutch speed skating sensation Jutta Leerdam during her triumphant performances at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics has sold for a staggering €195,000 at auction.

The 27-year-old, who is engaged to Jake Paul, donned the bright orange outfit when she claimed gold in the 1,000m event after breaking the Olympic record, and again when she secured silver in the 500m race six days later.

It’s a truly remarkable sum for a piece of sporting memorabilia, and the sale has set tongues wagging across the athletics world.

The bidding war for Leerdam’s autographed suit was nothing short of extraordinary.

Just an hour before the auction closed, the highest offer sat at just under €10,000 – hardly earth-shattering for Olympic memorabilia.

Then came a last-minute duel between two determined bidders that sent the price rocketing past €195,000 in a matter of hours.

Organisers were reportedly stunned by the late surge.

The winning bid came from a fellow Dutch national, and the sale smashed the previous record on the MatchWornShirt platform.

That honour had belonged to Cristiano Ronaldo, whose Portugal match-worn shirt from a game against Hungary last year fetched just under €63,000.

The proceeds from Leerdam’s suit will go to IJsvereniging Pijnacker, the youth skating club where she first took to the ice as a youngster.

Chairman Johan van Dam expressed his delight at the windfall.

“We are incredibly happy with this and feel a responsibility to carefully consider how we can best use this wonderful amount,” he said.

“This contribution is truly of great significance for our club; we can now allow even more children to experience the joy of skating.”

The funds are expected to help improve facilities and create training opportunities for young athletes at the grassroots club.

Leerdam’s suit wasn’t the only item to attract attention at the charity auction, which was organised by TeamNL and the Dutch Olympic Committee.

Her closing ceremony jacket fetched €4,826, making it the second highest-selling piece.

Teammate Femke Kok, who pipped Leerdam to gold in the 500m, saw her racing suit sell for €4,602.

Bronze medallist Kjeld Nuis had his 1500m final suit go for €1,010, while a flag carried at the opening ceremony by Jens van’t Wout and Kimberley Bos brought in €400.

In total, 86 items from the Dutch speed skating squad raised €275,345, with all proceeds going to the local sports clubs where the Olympians began their careers.
