Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl has heaped praise on Donald Trump following the United States and Israel’s major attack on Iran.

Chaos has broken out in the Middle East after Iran was targeted with missile strikes early Saturday morning, before the country retaliated with revenge attacks in Israel and other US bases in the region, including the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain.

Amid fears of an all-out war escalating, Trump has received the backing of outspoken college basketball coach Pearl, who is a well-known supporter of the president.

Pearl wrote in a post on X: ‘President Trump gave Iran a chance to avoid War by simply agreeing to No Nukes. Iran launched middles at other Arab countries and Israel, huge mistake! Saudi Arabia joins our side’.

‘Iran is head of the snake,’ he added. ‘President Trump is the leader of the free world. Defeat Evil then Peace!’

In an earlier post, Pearl also made an emotional plea for ‘real peace’ in the Middle East.

The 65-year-old put: ‘Lord Hear Our Prayer Please put your hedge of protection over our heroic armed service as they target Iran military and missile sites with Operation Epic Fury. Pray for the innocent Pray for the enemy to be destroyed, a free Iran and then for real Peace in the Middle East.’

Pearl previously divided opinion after defending Trump’s bombing of Iranian nuclear sites, claiming he ‘prevented a War’ in the process.

Yet as Iran launches a series of revenge strikes there are concerns that a full-blown war could be on the cards in the Middle East.

The populous UAE city of Dubai was struck by Iranian missiles on Saturday, with four people reportedly injured when its famous Palm Jumeirah Fairmont Hotel was hit by counter attacks.

Fears have grown over the safety of several men’s tennis stars who are currently playing at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, including former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev.

The attack on Iran and its revenge strikes have led to the disruption of commercial flights across the Middle East and beyond after regional airspaces began closing and tens of thousands of travelers around the globe were left stranded.

In a video announcing the ‘major combat operations,’ Trump urged the Iranian public to ‘seize control of your destiny’ by rising up against the Islamic leadership that has ruled the nation since 1979 following the attack.

The president also told Iranians ‘when we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will be probably your only chance for generations.’
