Miami men’s basketball coach Travis Steele pushed over a DJ’s speaker in an astonishing moment of rage during their win over Western Michigan on Friday night.

Steele, who is in his fourth season as Miami (OH) head coach, suffered the meltdown at the end of the first half following a dispute with the officiating crew.

After screaming at the officials, the 44-year-old headed for the locker room in fury and shoved the in-house DJ’s stand-up speaker at University Arena to the ground on his way.

He was assessed a technical foul over his outburst, with Western Michigan shooting free throws to start the second half.

According to Detroit News, Western Michigan police were in the arena during the incident but it is unclear if a complaint was filed.

When asked about his violent moment after the game, Steele told CBS Sports Network: ‘I’ve gotta be better.’

‘I don’t even know how I got that technical,’ he admitted. ‘I can’t do that.’

He was allowed to stay on the sideline in the game as No. 21-ranked Miami moved to 29-0 for the season after a last-second layup by freshman point guard Trey Perry sealed a dramatic 69-67 win.

Western Michigan led by nine points at one stage of the second half while in search of their first win over a ranked opponent since 2007.

Broncos redshirt senior guard Justice Williams tied the game with 12.8 seconds left, only for the RedHawks to claim the victory right at the death.

‘Just resilient,’ Steele said about his team. Guys just find a way, man.’
