The New York Yankees were forced to deal with a stomach-churning crisis after a massive sewage leak struck their spring training facility on Saturday.

A foul-smelling problem erupted outside George M. Steinbrenner Field before seeping directly into the Yankees’ private clubhouse and bathroom areas.

The incident occurred just before Sunday’s scheduled game against the Mets, leaving players and staff to contend with a brutal stench that emanated through the building.

Managers and officials were left reeling as the waste spread across the floor of the professional training complex in Tampa, Florida.

Manager Aaron Boone admitted the situation was far from ideal as the team step up their preparations for the upcoming season.

‘It’s not great. And it’s all over the place. Hopefully they get it cleaned up here overnight and back in business [Sunday],’ said Boone.

Reports indicate that two separate sewer lines broke near the main entrance of the stadium, causing the liquid waste to overflow significantly.

A Yankees spokesman attempted to find some humor in the messy situation while crews worked frantically to contain the rising tide of sewage.

‘It’s spring training for the toilets, too,’ the official quipped as the team faced one of the more unusual obstacles of the preseason.

The stench remained a major talking point throughout the afternoon as the odor reportedly lingered in the areas surrounding the locker room.

The unexpected incident comes as the team looks to finalize its roster and build momentum ahead of the 2026 Major League Baseball season.

However, in an MLB offseason that included massive deals and huge trades, the Yankees did very little to upgrade their team.

The frustrations spilled over to Yankees star Aaron Judge who admitted that he voiced his concerns to the team’s higher ups earlier in the week.

‘It was brutal,’ the New York captain said Monday after the team’s first full-squad workout. ‘Early on it was pretty tough to watch. I’m like, “Man, we’re the New York Yankees. Let’s go out there and get the right people.”‘

‘Let’s sign these guys right now and start adding more pieces because I’m seeing other teams around the league get better.

‘They’re making trades. They’re signing big prospects or big players. And we’re sitting there for a while kind of making smaller moves.’

When asked if he voiced his concerns to higher ups, a grinning Judge replied, ‘Yeah, oh yeah.’

He added, ‘It was frustrating, but I think we’re right where we need to be.’

The Yankees were rumored to be in for many of the top free agents in this year’s class, but ended up signing none of them early on.
