It sounds like there is going to be one huge party after the USA men’s hockey team beat Canada to claim gold in an all-time thriller on Sunday.

Jack Hughes scored the winner in overtime as USA beat Canada 2-1 in Milan, ending a gripping game with a victory that will go down in history.

As the Americans started the celebrations on the ice, fans spotted Vincent Trocheck sending an unfiltered message to a friend about how wild things were about to become.

Cameras caught Trocheck, 32, waving to someone in the stands and appearing to mouth the words: ‘I’m getting f***ed up tonight.’

The clip immediately went viral on social media, with his millions of fans back in the United States lapping it up.

‘Man of the people,’ one fan wrote, while another said: ‘He’s one of us!’

A different fan shared the clip and added: ‘I’m not an expert lip reader. But it looks like there’s gonna be a lot of empty Peroni bottles around our guy Vincent Trocheck in Milan tonight.’

Speaking in the locker room after the win, Trocheck said: ‘I’m pretty f***ing proud, I’ll be honest.

‘We were able to come here and we had a job to do, and it was to be good penalty kill guys, faceoff guys, character guys. We took that role and we ran with it.’

The US team are expected to fly back to Miami on Monday. The plan had been to fly to New York but with a huge blizzard expected to hit Manhattan, they will head to Florida instead.

From there, the party will no doubt continue.

‘This is all about our country right now,’ Hughes said shortly after his goal won gold.

‘I love the U.S.A. I love my teammates. It’s unbelievable. The USA Hockey brotherhood is so strong.’
