Jurgen Klopp has amused fans by dressing up as a famous TV character for the Mainz Carnival with a new-look moustache.
The former Liverpool boss, 58, now works as Red Bull’s head of global football and spent his weekend at the colourful street party in western Germany.
Returning to the city where he started his managerial career to visit the months-long event, Klopp donned a black cowboy hat and a red bandana around his neck.
Sharing two images to his 5.5 million Instagram followers, the Anfield legend wrote: ‘Not Ted Lasso but John Dutton today! Mainzer Fastnacht here we go…’
Dutton, primarily played by Kevin Costner, is the main protagonist of Paramount television series Yellowstone and would often wear a similar hat when riding a horse around his ranch in Montana, USA.
Klopp’s second image had supporters comparing him to Jason Sudeikis‘ portrayal of Ted Lasso, the Apple TV show about an American football coach who makes it in the Premier League with fictional side AFC Richmond.

Fans online also compared him to Walter White from Breaking Bad, the high school teacher-turned drug lord made famous by Bryan Cranston.
Former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique commented below the Instagram post with a crown emoji, while floods of Liverpool accounts left swathes of red love hearts.
Other replies included fans asking him to come to Real Madrid, after being linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in recent months.
But after Xabi Alonso was sacked by the Galacticos, the German was keen to stress that he had not received any contact about taking the job.
‘I think the rumors have been circulating for some time now. And I know exactly what your question is getting at, but it has nothing to do with me,’ he told Austrian channel Servus TV when asked if he had been called after Alonso’s departure.
‘My phone did actually ring, but not from Madrid. There were, however, a few people who felt they needed to bring it up with me.
‘In general, it’s a sign that not everything there is 100 per cent right when Xabi Alonso, who showed over two years in Leverkusen what an outstanding coaching talent he is, has to leave Real Madrid just half a year later.
‘When you come in after a legend and an incredibly successful coach like Carlo Ancelotti, who had a very specific way of managing his teams, and then try to introduce new rules, that has now proven to be too difficult. I really feel sorry for him, because I consider him a great coach.’

Klopp now works as Red Bull’s global head of football, where he has been since January 2025
Klopp left Anfield in May 2024 after ‘running out of energy’ in the dugout and has since stressed he is happy in his current role, where he has been since January 2025.
The 58-year-old left his role as Liverpool manager 18 months ago after almost nine years at the helm – winning seven honours along the way.
He won the Champions League in 2019 before leading Liverpool to their first league title in 30 years in 2019-20.
The German went on to become the only Liverpool manager to win the league title, European Cup/Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup with the Reds.
