John Fury wants Tyson Fury to perform another retirement U-turn after it was announced the British boxing legend would be returning to action.
Back in January, Fury Jr said he wouldn’t be returning to the sport – having suffered his second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk the previous month.
However, Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh recently confirmed the 36-year-old would be making a comeback in 2026.
Referencing another showdown with Usyk, he said: “The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back!!!

John Fury wants Tyson Fury to perform another retirement U-turn after it was announced the British boxing legend would be returning to action
“I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026. We have a rabbit to hunt!”
Fury then shared a fight poster that included both himself and Usyk, adding a caption that read: “April 18, 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! UK. contact @spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets.”
Prior to last May’s bout with Usyk, Fury was undefeated.
However, he struggled to break down the Ukrainian in either of their two bouts and ultimately paid the price, with his unbeaten record gone.
Now, speaking to The Stomping Ground, John has urged his son to perform another U-turn and stay retired – instead of venturing back into the ring.
“People want to see the Gypsy King, but I would rather him stay retired,” he said.
“He’s done his bit for the boxing world. He still loves his fans and he thanks them all very much for what they’ve done, but it’s only my opinion only I’d like to see him stay retired.”
John also suggested he wants his son to focus on family life, instead of sport, having achieved so much throughout his career.

Turki Alalshikh recently confirmed Tyson Fury would be returning to boxing in 2026
“Health, and he’s got a family, he’s other commitments apart from boxing,” he said.
“He’s done what he has to do in boxing, as far as I’m concerned, and he’s got a lot of young children he wants to be a father to, and he wants to be a healthy father, not somebody that’s ended up an imitation or one, you know.
“So it’s health before wealth.
“He’s got the wealth, he’s got everything else, he just needs to calm down and concentrate on what’s important.”
Meanwhile, Fury recently revealed two opponents he wouldn’t face for any amount of money.
Close friend Joseph Parker is one, while he also named Agit Kabagyel – who had previously been expected to face the Briton in 2020.
“They are my two brothers,” he said.
“They are both lovely guys and they are both future world heavyweight champions.
