Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has identified two crucial acquisitions the Reds must complete ahead of the transfer deadline.
The ex-England international insists that Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi and Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak should be Liverpool’s primary targets.
“So with Liverpool looking to challenge on all fronts, Guehi would be a great signing.”
He praised the Crystal Palace defender’s international credentials as evidence of his readiness for Liverpool.
“He showed for England he is capable of playing at the top level, so he would have no problems fitting into the Liverpool side and would make them a lot stronger,” Pennant observed, while also noting Liverpool’s precarious situation up front.

The former Liverpool player outlined Isak’s qualities that make him an ideal fit for Anfield. “He looks like a Liverpool player, he is powerful, a top finisher and would be a massive asset to the squad,” Pennant said.

He also stressed the Swedish international’s familiarity with English football and desire to join the Merseyside club. “He knows the Premier League and wants to play for the club,” Pennant noted.
Regarding Mohamed Salah’s future contributions, Pennant dismissed concerns about the Egyptian’s productivity under new manager Arne Slot. “Mo Salah has a different role under Slot than he did under Klopp. He stays forward a lot more so, I think he scores plenty of goals this season,” Pennant predicted.
