Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has opened up after his side’s convincing 3-0 victory over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
The hosts entered the showdown on a high after recent victories over Borussia Dortmund and Bournemouth.
And City produced one of their best performances of the campaign, with Erling Haaland, Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku all scoring on a rainy afternoon in Manchester.
It is a result that sends a message to Arsenal, with City now just four points behind the Gunners at the top of the table.
And it also means Guardiola has won his 1,000th match in charge, too, with City marking the occasion with a standout display.
Speaking after the game, the Spaniard said he’d celebrate the victory by spending some time with his children.
“I will go home with my kids who came for the game. I will go home for a few days, stay with my family,” he stated.
Guardiola also admitted that his players rising to the occasion had been the best kind of ‘present’, too, as they continued their title charge.
